USea by Amy Frost

Part of the Abstract Memories project, reflecting on footage from my trip to the US in October.

I purposely edited the footage to appear as though the sea is “breathing” relating to the idea that when I visited this beach I finally felt like I could breath, and nothing else mattered. I visited this beach in October 2018, having previously visited 4 years prior. The 4 years prior I was in a suicidal state, and had come to the US to escape an abusive relationship. Visiting this again, represented to me, new beginnings as I realised how far I’d come since my previous visit.
